ITEM DESCRIPTION: Excellent condition early brass rocket motor engine from an estate sale. I obtained this several years ago and was told at the time of purchase that the item belonged to a member of Robert H. Goddard's design team.

After careful study, item appears to have been a test bed for using liquid fuel (Oxygen or Hydrogen) to cool the end bell nozzle to keep it from melting (a common problem on early rocket designs). I believe this is the first rocket engine in the world to utilize this concept.

Apparently it was taken home as a souvenir (guessing) and had passed through several hands in the family. Unfortunately I have zero providence on this item; however, after visiting several aviation and space museums in the nation, (In person and via online archives) displaying examples of Goddard's early work the materials and craftsmanship appear very similar.
