Contributed by Michael Rangitsch B rief: Simple Mosquito-like rocket. Three fins, ejects the motor for recovery.
Construction: Kit contains balsa stock for 3 fins, balsa nose cone, and mylar body tube. Fins are attached to stick-on tape on the body tube.
Simple instructions, easy to follow. No special tools needed.
Finishing: Normal balsa construction finishing, no decals included. The paint scheme on the insert card has a white body tube with colored (dark) fins and nose.
Construction Rating: 3 out of 5
Flight: All motors make this one vanish. Flies straight (at least what you can see of it). Pretty much a one-shot rocket. Maybe that's why there aren't many left.
Recovery: Recovery is featherweight after ejecting the motor. It is very small and difficult to see. This is the original 'Mosquito' from Estes.
Flight Rating: 3 out of 5
Summary: Nice older rocket kit, even if it is very simple. It still likes to 'join the swarm', so beware if you build one and fly it.
Overall Rating: 3 out of 5
