Estes - Helicat
Contributed by Kevin Sullivan The Helicat is a big single stage rocket that uses a 18" parachute for the main rocket body. The main rocket body consists of two large yellow tubes permanently glued together at a black plastic joint piece and black plastic fins. The nose cone has helicopter fins and is recovered separately (which is great for the kids). The kit was very easy to build, it looks great with its (2) yellow tubes with black plastic fins and nose cone and had some cool self-adhesive decals which my kids had fun putting on. The engine mount is a twist-on type (black plastic) which I haven't seen before but it worked great. The rocket flew really well using "C" motors and both recovery systems work flawlessly. No damage was seen after three launches, and the rocket looks like it will be real durable. And best of all the kids loved chasing both the nose cone and the main rocket. The manual says it can go as high as 600 feet, unfortunately I don't have enough experience to say for sure how high it really went (maybe 400 feet). Highly recommended. Flight Log
