2012-04-21Super-Duper Neon 29 Flight Nice strong boost and recovered without incident. - G53-5FJ - SARG - Amoruso Field [More]
Sardo XXL (Tube Fin) Flight Launched into a building thermal. At about 300' of altitude during the descent, the thermal broke loose and carried the rocket about 400 yards downwind. Go figure. - H180-6 - SARG - Amoruso Field [More]
2012-04-07Super-Duper Neon 29 Flight This was the initial flight of my Super-Duper Neon 29 on an F40-7. I was expecting apogee to be somewhat over 1,000 feet. The boost was nice and straight. The cover was timed perfectly and the rocket drifted over the spectator area where it touched down gracefully about 10 feet in front of van... [More]
Sardo XXL (Tube Fin) Flight Looks like this was my first 39/240 reload. The H180W is nice solid motor. Not too thrusty, not too slow. Basically a Goldilocks motor.
I had a nice boost, acceptable recovery, and a landing that bent one of my tube fins so it will require some attention. Nothing major. Nice flight... [More]
2012-03-10E-Pod (Tube Fin) Flight WINDY!!
17-19 mph winds but tube fin rockets don't much mind the wind. Good straight boost and the small parachute brought the E-Pod down within 100 yards of the launch point. - D12-3 - SARG - Amoruso Field [More]
2012-03-04Mean Machine Flight Nice straight boost and deployment at apogee. Nice soft touchdown. I love it when a plan comes together. - E20-7 - LUNAR - Snow Ranch [More]
2012-03-03Bottle Bat 3.0 (Tube Fin) Flight Beautiful straight boost and deployment at 5 seconds. I had to drill out the delay in the G76-7 to accomodate the extra weight of this bird. Very nice recovery and soft landing uphill from pad.
All up weight before boost: Not taken, had to hurry to get last launch in before end of activities
... [More]
Big Baby Bertha Flight Nice straight boost but the rocket flew through the chute, tangled badly, and bounced off the roof of a car parked in the spectator area. Fortunately no damage to the car and only minimal paint chips to the rocket. No repairs needed and it will fly again. - D12-5 - LUNAR - Snow Ranch [More]
Auracle 54 (Tube Fin) Flight Nice boost, straight and true. Good recovery and avoided the rocks and creek however there was some minor compression damage on one of the tube fins.
All up weight before boost was 30.3 ounces.
Altimeter Two: 1355' and 219 mph. - G76-7 - LUNAR - Snow Ranch [More]
2012-02-18Estes Super Alpha Flight Nice liftoff and relatively vertical flight given the wind speed at the time of launch. No incidents to report, just a solid flight. - D12-5 - SARG - Amoruso Field [More]
