Lets Move - Boston Red Sox
Today, nearly 1 in 3 children in America are overweight or obese. Over the past three decades, childhood obesity rates in America have tripled. First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! Initiative has an ambitious, but important goal: to solve the epidemic of childhood obesity within a generation. As part of Let's Move!, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Ad Council have developed a new series of PSAs designed to address childhood obesity in the United States. One series of ads, created by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, features Disney's well-known Beauty and the Beast characters and encourages kids to "discover the magic and beauty of healthy living". Another series of PSAs, created by McCann-Erickson in conjunction with Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association, features First Lady Michelle Obama with players from teams in your area encouraging parents and children to "eat healthy so they can play an hour a day, every day". Each PSA directs viewers to www.LetsMove.gov, where they can find simple tools and information on being active, eating better, and getting healthy. The spots were all created pro bono and are part of a larger campaign rolling out in communities nationwide this year. By supporting these PSAs you are joining the movement to raise a healthier generation of kids. Please visit adcouncil.org or www.LetsMove.gov for more information on the Let's Move! campaign.
