Brief: Good entry level rocket for Mid-Power. There's one on every shelf on every hobby shop in America.

Construction: Solid stuff through out. Thick body tube, plastic fins, plastic motor mount cage. It has a baffle and a motor clip. Initially I thought about deleting the motor clip so I could use H motors in it. Typical lack of perspective thought. I'm glad I suppressed that urge: I'd never get the rocket back.

The fins snap into the fin-lock system. The body tube is pre-slotted. You can snap everything together to immediately get an idea what the rocket is going to look like. I built this whole rocket with Great Planes 30 minute epoxy. The trickiest part is to make sure everything is lined up when you put the motor mount in. You'll want to get the fins on before the motor mount glue dries because it might take some twisting and nudging to get the fins to snap into place.

Finishing: This makes a very heavy rocket, by model rocket standards. With all the epoxy, primer and paint, I added 2.5 oz to the finished rocket. Another thing, don't paint the rocket like the box cover. This is a very popular rocket due to the fact that it's the cheapest one that Aerotech makes and it's on every hobby shop shelf in the country. Experience has taught me, also, that a white rocket disappears against any cloud.

About the only thing I didn't like was it was all white and I was using white primer. With that combo, you can't tell when you've sanded through the primer. Use gray primer for this rocket.

Flight: Bronco is now the veteran of 4 flights. The motors I've used so far are F22-7, F50-10, F20-7 and G64-10. This is a impressive flyer on the F20 Econojets. It goes real fast and the Econojets are loud. The delay on the F50-10 is too long.

Recovery: My launch field is over 4000' and the ground can get pretty hard. Add to that the fact that Bronco is 13.4 oz and the kit's parachute is too small. I'm flying it on an 18" LOC nylon chute.

I like the quick set-up due tot he fact that there's no wadding needed. One thing, though, is to put a wire up there every once in a while and clean out all the gunk that gets caught in the baffle mesh.

Summary:This is a very satisfying rocket. It looks cool, flies fast and is very tough. There's not much that you can say is wrong with it. Actually nothing is wrong with it.
