Estes Sith Interceptor Brief:
This is Estes's representation of Darth Maul's Sith interceptor from Episode 1. It is a single stage 18 mm rocket that doubles as a nice display model, and a fully functional model rocket with the flight probe attached. It has parachute recovery.

Construction:
The main plastic body comes as one piece, you merely glue some pieces on the flight probe and glue the probe together and your are ready to fly. It does come with a special star wars chute.

The directions are very easy to follow and have a logical sequence. I used some 5 minute epoxy to glue everything together.

Finishing:
The rocket is actually already finished, you could decorate the flight probe though. It looks great as a display, and looks neat on the pad. All the kids get excited to see it fly.

Construction Rating: 4 out of 5

Flight:
The main pro is it is a very well balanced kit, and has never weather-cocked on me. It is quite heavy, so you really see those engines working hard to get it up there. I have flown it almost two dozen times and prefer C5-3s for their extra lifting power. I use three pieces of wadding to protect the shock cord; hasn't failed yet.

Recovery:
The parachute could be a little bigger, but there really would be no room for a bigger chute. Of course, it is also landing on a plastic model for all intents and purposes.

Flight Rating: 4 out of 5

Summary:
PRO - Looks great, neat to have if you are a Star Wars buff. You can pick these things and the flying toilet bowls up a dime a dozen now. Sales were not to brisk.
CON - Would have liked to see it as a D powered kit like the Star Destroyer.
