Beautiful early autumn day at Richard Bong recreation area!! The sky was clear and the weather warm. This is the third flight of the 6" Minion and this time I mixed it up and flew a 75mm K789 Redline. The reds come on a little slower, so the 6" rocket left the pad slower, trailing a laser-red flame. This time the launch rail was aimed a little off, and the rocket arced into the winds a bit more than I expected. She did blow back, but not nearly as much as I wanted. Recovery was about 400' off of Suz road, near the water, in the reeds and cattails. I used the Featherweight GPS and plotted the location on Google Maps to figure out the best approach, but in the end, it was a straight shot from the road to the rocket, which was hidden in the cattails despite it's portly size.

Expected altitude (Rocksim) was 3811' AGL and the EasyMini altimeter reported 3851' for a grand total of 41 feet difference between the sim and reality. I ran the 96' TopFlight X-Type chute as the main, and it brought the rocket down around 30fps, but near the ground the GPS reported a slower 22fps.

As usual, the photos from the pad, GPS plots and the altimeter readouts.

Actual Altitude: 3,858.00 Feet
