Australian Rocketry's Thunda Down Under and Gorilla Rocket Motors O4475 Black Lightning Demo
The biggest and baddest sparky motor to hit the rocketry world has finally been unleashed. On Sunday 22 September 2013 at Balls 22 in Black Rock Desert, NV, Australian Rocketry prepared for one of its biggest launches to date. The Thunda 2015 rocket, known as Drama Queen was loaded up with the first ever flight of a Gorilla Rocket Motors 6" motor. This was a demo flight of the O4475 Black Lightning (sparky) that is destined to change consumer rocketry for ever. With the roar of 100 lions, this 150lb/70kb, 18'/5.4m monster majestically lifted into the skies over the Black Rock Desert Playa to an altitude of ~10,800' and was recovered in windy conditions only 1.2miles away. Plans are being made for a drag race of 4 or 5 of these monsters in March 2015 at Australian Rocketry's Thunda Down Under!
