Actual Altitude: 3,521.00 Feet

Second flight for the Lotus 5, a 5" rocket from Rocketry Warehouse.  This time the motor was an AT J800T, blue thunder.  The 98% J did not disappoint - lots of thrust near the ground with a great coast to apogee.  Beautiful clear skies at the Bong field and Tripoli Wisconsin was, as ever, a wonderful club to fly with.

I've got the RockSim dialed in just perfectly for the rocket.  Estimated apogee was just 24 feet off from actual as reported by both the RRC2+ and RRC2L altimeters.

This time the rocket drifted just out of the main field into a tree, coming to rest about 10' above the ground. With the use of a pole the rocket was retrieved without too much trouble.

Unfortunately, the Featherweight GPS did not lock on and communication was lost.  Also, the GPS unit did not register the flight at all.  Fortunately, the Wildman tracker worked perfectly as the backup tracking unit, but neither was really needed to locate the rocket.  But that means this time no GPS plot of the flight since there was none registered.
