Flight video of the Loc Precision LOC IV on Saturday November 18, 2017 at the Colorado C.R.A.S.H. (Colorado Rocketry Association of Space Hobbyist) group NAR #482. This was with an Aerotech RMS 38/120 G61W-14A White Lightning. I had an issue with this flight. The motor comes stock with a 14sec delay. I used an Aerotech Delay Drill tool. Initially I was going to take 8 second off the delay grain but only took off around 4 seconds. That was still too much delay at about 10 seconds. Make sure you use the correct side of the tool as needed. After looking at the sim data for my flight, I was still off. Taking 8 sec off would of still potentially caused an issue. I should have taken 10 seconds total off the delay. As a result and what you’ll see through the video, the charge ejected the chute way late into the flight and I wound up zippering the tube. As no one was hurt and it was still an awesome looking flight, I decided to post this video. This however is proof that care must be taken with each flight. This is a mistake I promised myself I won’t make again! The potential for someone getting hurt can always come from people not paying attention even though they are warned. No flight data was saved during this flight for altitude or speed. Thanks to Matt, Joe, Russel, Tim and everyone at CRASH for all the work put into these launches.
