2012-04-15Vanguard Eagle Flight First flight with the eagle, unpainted sadly. Loaded up with a C6-0 and a B6-6 for the second stage. Went up nice and straight, unfortunately when the booster separated the sustainer took-off slightly sideways. The seperation of the sustainer from the booster on this rocket is really cool. You can... [More]
Darkstar Jr Flight Pretty hot motor for this rocket, got off the pad in a hurry to it's apogee of 4,455ft. Another good motor choice for days with a bit of breeze or for fields that aren't terribly big. Motor had a nice bright blue flame and a nice roar to it at lift-off. - I303 - MDRA Redglare XII [More]
2012-04-01Eliminator Flight First flight of the year. The boost was much quicker then anticipated for a skid, thanks to the lightweight of the rocket. As usual boost was dead straight. The 9 second set delay was exactly at apogee. Rocket drifted about 200 yards away, another perfect flight for the eliminator - G106 - Metra [More]
Darkstar Jr Flight Second flight of the year, the darkstar Jr. in a drag race against a Wildman jr with an EX tiger tail. Nice quick boost off the pad brought it up quicker and further, but unfortunately the main didn't deploy because it was packed too tightly in the tube. Solid motor for a day with low cloud cover.... 2011-11-20Darkstar Jr Flight Great fairly quick boost up to it's apogee of 3115ft. Perfectflite MAWD set off apo charge where it came down drogueless to 700ft where the main was fired. Perfect flite on a great motor for this rocket! - I195-Altimeter - MDRA Red Glare XI [More]
2011-11-06Darkstar Jr Flight Great loud, fiery boost to it's peak altitude of 2005ft. Drogueless at apogee and main at 700ft for a perfect flite. Landed in the dead soybean field and took over an hr to find even though it wasn't far from the pad at all!!! Great motor for this rocket! - I180-Altimeter - METRA [More]
Darkstar Jr Flight First launch of the second build on this kit. Nice straight boost off the pad. Great motor for this rocket! Unfortunately the perfectflite MAWD lost power sometime during the flight and the main charge never went off. Rocket was recovered with only chipped paint on the fins. This is a very solid... [More]
2011-06-25Sumo Flight This time up on an H238T. Very quick burn/boost. Not my favorite load for this rocket, but a good flight none the less. - H238 - Metra NERRF [More]
Eliminator Flight Another perfect flight for the eliminator, again on a G76. So far it's been my favorite motor for this rocket. - G76 - Metra NERRF [More]
Darkstar Jr Flight First build of this kit, only ever launched with just the booster section with nosecone (small configuration on wildman's instructions). Parachute used was too larage and the rocket drifted very far into the other owners farm next to the field....never to be seen again. Purchased another DS Jr kit... [More]
