Rocket PicBrief:
A really nice looking and very popular rocket by Public Enemy. Flies on H-J motors, and has excellent construction styles.

Construction:
The construction was very simple and straight forward with a design that allows for repairs to be made; such as a crimped body. The fin and motor can is one piece, the body is another, and the nose is another. The boat tail is pre-slotted Boat Tail and it uses 1/4" plywood fins. The recovery mounting is at the forward centering ring and could easily be replaced if it got worn out. I chose to glass my tube with two layers of Bondo glass (6oz) and sand it to a smooth finish, but in any case a large amount of nose weight (25oz in my case) is necessary for stability. The only con to the kit was that I got the wrong sized launch lugs. They where 1/2" on the outside instead of on the inside. This is not normal for this company though. I've purchased a few other kits and have seen literally hundreds of other Public Enemy kits and have seen nothing but great kits and happy customers.

Finishing:
There wasn't any decals, it was just paint the model, but it did have one of the better V2 paint schemes on the instructions. I just painted it blue, painted the nose black and painted the fins black with a margin of 1" on the outer edges (a pretty basic masking job that looks very nice).

Construction Rating: 5 out of 5

Flight:
I haven't flown mine yet but I've seen them fly strait as an arrow in 30MPH winds on anything from a H124 to a J350. But I'll let you know how it goes.

Recovery:
As I said earlier in the construction phase the recovery is well designed and can be replaced easily if necessary. The materials used were a bungee cord, an eye screw, and a 30" ripstop nylon parachute (recently upgraded to 34" by PE). I've seen the parachute in "stop sign red" and a medium purple in the past.

Flight Rating: 4 out of 5

Summary:
As you might have guessed I know the company fairly well and can full heartedly recommend all of there kits.

Overall Rating: 5 out of 5

I recommend using the AeroPak Motor Retainer from Giant Leap rocketry. Fits right onto the bottom of the motor tube and works like a champ.

The Public Enemy V2 is a good and simple kit. The comment on the 1/2" launch lugs being 1/2" on the outside is correct. That is because they are 3/8" launch lugs. The kit does come with 3/8" lugs, not 1/2".
