Taurus - SOAR's First Multi-Stage Rocket
Taurus is a rocket project four years in the making. She was built to carry two 98mm motors, up to the O class, and soar to altitudes higher than any rocket SOAR has ever built. Her first flight was on April 21st, 2019. Taurus broke a multitude of club records inlcuding highest apogee at 11,168 feet. A rocket of this magnitude is only the beginning for the future of SOAR, and has opened a path that we are willing to follow and lead in. A special thank you to the Varn family for letting us use their ranch for our launches time and again. Another thank you to our mentors from Tripoli Rocket Association in Plant City; Rick Waters, Gary Horwood, Jim West, and the rest of the gang for helping us all these years with this project and many more! And one last thank you to the USF students who started this project years ago, and those who worked on it up to her first flight. We couldn't have done it without your support and spirit.
