Team America Rocketry Challenge '03
My 8th Grade Team and I went to the Finals. Sponsored by AeroJet Nerdy Old Video I found in an old email. I have the bowl cut. Our 8th grade team at Emerson competed versus over 900 teams to place top 100 during qualifications to become sponsored by AeroJet. We placed 42nd due to an main engine failure during the finals. The competition rules where to have a rocket carrying two eggs ...(without breaking them) as close to 1500 feet using two sequential motors. It had to have a second payload to carry the barometric altimeter. This rocket was designed completely by Sean Bailey and I on RocketSim. We designed a second rocket for launches in higher wind speed to compensate for weather cocking by lowering the center of pressure(making the rocket less stable by removing fin surface area) It weighed in at 1.5 KG fully loaded(Engines, Altimeter, and Eggs) If you pay close attention to the launch you can see and hear the separation and ignition of the second stage engine. You will see the orange booster separate from the main body. http://www.ant1tuned.com/rocketry.html
