Winning Rocketry Challenge flight from NYHS! Now on to Washington, DC for the nationals!
This week Jessica "Rocket Girl" Schwartz.... Joel Jacobs, and Itai Amon qualified for the national Team America Rocketry Challenge finishing with one of the best score's in the state, and will now be off to Washington, DC representing the school and the state. The teams had to design a rocket to fly a raw egg exactly 750 feet high and descend back to earth in between 48-50 seconds without breaking it. Their rocket went 752 feet and descended in 46 seconds, amazingly close to the target. They designed their approach using computer simulations to determine the optimal design, weight, and type of engine. Absolutely amazing! We are so proud. This was an Northwest Yeshiva High School Physics class exercise.
