Brief:
This is a stretched version of the FlisKits Thing-A-Ma-Jig. A simple, easy
quick build for beginners and educators. In fact, the only kit simpler to build
is an RTF!
Modifications:
I didn't start this one out intending to do a review on it, but after the smoke
cleared--pardon the pun--I decided to do a quick write up on it. I bought three
of them from Jim at the NERRF II launch because I wanted something for my 12
year old daughter and 7 year old niece to build together.
The build went quickly. They were finished in about 45 minutes. Dad/Uncle Drake (that's me) wanted to do something different so I used a 32" tube for the body rather than the 16" tube supplied. Not wanting to be outdone, the girls insisted on following suit. Luckily I had enough tubes to go around.

Parts list:
The interesting thing about this kit is the way the fins go together. They have laser cut slots and tabs forming a triangular box put together like puzzle pieces. Their assembly is so intuitive that the girls had them together without discussion.
Flight and Recovery:
We launched these several times on several motors ranging from A8-3s to C6-5s.
Each flight was flawless, however, Dad's ended up in a pond after only two
flights.

FlisKits' new "Jig-Tech" technology produces three fins that interlock in such a way that you're virtually guaranteed to get all your fins on straight. The Thing-a-ma-Jig (also called the TamJ) is designed to be easily constructed by first time rocket builders. The Thing-a-ma-Jig ...
