Flight Log - 2014-05-17 - Steve Lindeman's Star Seeker 2x Upscale

This is a scratch built 2x upscale of the Estes Star Seeker (0866)

Flight Date: 2014-05-17
Rocket Name: Star Seeker 2x Upscale
Flyer's Name: Steve Lindeman
Motors: B6-4
Wind Speed: 7.00 mph
Launch Site: Lyon Township Park - New Hudson, MI

On pad three. Maiden flight with a B6-4 only. Nice straight high flight with 'chute ejection just after apogee. Parachute did not fully deploy. Recovery showed that the chute and shock cord were melted together in a single small spot. Damage to rocket was major. Right wing ripped off completely but other wise OK. Left wing ripped lose but still attached but missing wood dowel on wing tip. Will require much work but will fly again. On the bright side my home made balsa NC suffered no damage at all.
