Giga Drill Breaker rocket (2012-03-15)

My conical cluster rocket was inspired by the ultimate finishing move from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. The rocket uses two canted Aerotech G76G's to provide enough spiral energy for liftoff, spinning around a 1/2" launch rod. It rear ejects the canister containing the motor, and descends on a 48" Spherachute. The skin is made up of foam-core fiberglass laid up on posterboard, and the internals are phenolic tubing and plywood. The original audio was useless, since the wind was barely low enough to launch.

Giga Drill Breaker Rocket: 2nd flight (2012-04-03)

Luckily, not a Lagann Impact. But my choice of motor, 2 Aerotech G138's, caused the rocket to fly so straight up that it came down on the chute, winding it around the shock cord. Note that I was too preoccupied with actually watching it fall to capture it on video. It's only mildly damaged, but I haven't yet figured out how to fix it, or whether it actually needs fixing to fly again. This is a late upload; the flight was on March 10, 2012, at the ROC launch at Lucerne Valley, CA.

Someone else's M1297-powered rocket (2011-12-31)

While I was trying to dig my (ruined) nosecone out of the ground, someone launched a much larger squat rocket than my own on an Aerotech M1297. Awesome.
