Brief

Very pleased with the components, fairly comprehensive instructions.

Components

I ordered the kit with the fiberglass fins (as the military version has sleek wings/fins).

Components were ready for assembly with very little prep.

Construction

My first high power build, a few lessons learned. But, overall it was a great kit to learn on.

This kit has a piston ejection system, and a little research may have helped me ensure the piston provided a zipper-free ejection. Not to worry... a little fiberglass and all is well.

Recommend a jig to align the wings/fins. I used painters tape, which worked, but was very time consuming. Four sessions to get the fins/wings installed, filleted.

Finishing

I could have spent more time filling in the tube rings... but, overall they were sufficiently filled with my low skill on finishing.

The provided decals are fairly realistic... although the recommended paint schemes do not mimic military markings of a live or inert missile. Not to worry... I did my best.

Construction Score: 5

Flight

This thing proved to be a static display beauty. Many favorable comments by fellow rocketeers.  It looked great - and it flew even better.

The straightest flying rocket I have ever built - I was concerned that the forward wings make cause 'problems' - but as I said - it flew wonderfully

Recovery

The first flight, was also my Level 1 flight. Straight as an arrow up; and as you know, you don't get certified till you recover the bad boy and determine it's flight-worthiness.

Minor zipper due to my inexperience with piston ejection... but it was easily repaired, and deemed airworthy.

I highly recommend this to be configured with dual deployment - much time, effort, and expense - only to watch it drift over the horizon...

Flight Rating: 4

Summary

This was my favorite rocket in my fleet. Unfortunately, it drifted into an unknown canyon at NARAM-56, near Pueblo, CO. I have yet to locate it... dual deployment from this point forward!
