Some of my favorite model rockets are the classic designs by Wayne Kellner from the 1960's. Designer of the Red Max, Goblin and Goonie Bird kits, he had a Mad Magazine/Rat Fink art style that really appealed to me as a kid.  One of his first "monster" rocket designs was the Scamp.  I always thought of this character, and rocket, as a baby Goblin.  And just as the Goblin has been upscaled into an awesome mid-power design, I think it's time the Scamp got the same treatment!

 

This Scamp stands 30 inches high and has the classic lines of the original.  This version uses a 29mm motor mount and is capable of flights on F and small G motors. This rocket features a faceted nose cone that, when painted gloss black, "shimmers" when it catches sunlight to aid tracking.  The vinyl decals in this kit include the classic graphics of the Scamp as well as some added "bats" to show its ties to the Goblin legacy.

 

Kit includes resin nose cone, one-piece body tube, 29mm motor tube, laser-cut plywood centering rings fins and nose cone plates, Kevlar shock cord, 1/4" launch lugs, multi-page, full color instructions and vinyl decals.

 

This kit does not include: motor retention, parachute, or recovery harness so you can use what you have on hand - or can be purchased from our store. Rail buttons are recommended for "G" flights and are not included.

 

This rocket has been successfully flown on an F26-6 motor and is suitable for flights on F through small G motors.
