Black Widow
My name is Eric Spain and I live in Rhode Island.I have been involved with rocketry for 2 years and I love it! My Descon #9 entry is called the Black Widow. My rocket is 6 feet tall and 2 inch diameter. The coupler is the same type of tube as the body tube and is located in the middle. It is black with yellow/black Monokote. The nose cone is a piece of balsa that I made on a drill press. It has a 29 mm mount and was first flown on a F-22. It has 4 9 inch long 1.5 inch diameter tubes that were cut from Estes Mean Machine Body Tubes and were painted yellow.It gives the rocket a nice Sci-Fi look. The body tubes were fiberglassed, sanded, and painted.
This is a picture of the Black Widow when it was finished. The only thing missing is the nosecone.
