Epic 2

By Jonathon Greig

Estes Epic 2

I started this build while I was waiting for the fins to dry on super big bertha so I decide to build my second epic 2 estes kit. The first one is probably still up there since I sent it on a c6-5 6-0 combo needless to say it was never seen again lol but anyway I am excited to build it again because to me this thing I sleep fast and it has a great paint scheme that I nailed on the first so this one should be better atleast in theory it should lol, it is a 2 stage rocket and the fins are very thin I don't know exact but thin had to be very lite on the sanding when I sealed them. I think the fins on their rocket look fast sitting still.

Over the last couple days I have painted all three colors 2-3 coats of each. Went pretty good there was a little hiccup where some air bubbles formed after the first coat of the white that I had to sand down to primer to get rid of. After that I put two more coats of the white and let dry overnight. The black went smooth and the fins turned out to be glass and I very happy with the results. I ended up going with krylon satin white, krylon gloss black and for the blue I went with Gloss deep blue from rust-oleum. I went with that because it was the closest match I could find to what the picture of it showed. Overall the finishing went good the rocket looks sleek and sexy in my opinion.
