Estes Executioner flown with a D12-3 engine. I wanted to do a video at dusk to see more flame :-) The high speed camera did not do a great job in the low light, but it still came out pretty cool. We shot it in real time also, you can see that in the second half of this video. Thanks for watching!
Maiden Voyage goes badly. I used the stick on parachute line holders from the kit. Every single one of them failed on the main chute and half of them failed on the capsule chute. Watch the video til the end. Atlas lands at cameraman's feet. Broke 2 stabilizer fins. Capsule was unharmed. She will fly again this week :-) Stay tuned!
Second flight of the Monarch on a windy day. I under estimated the winds aloft and nearly lost the rocket. Flown with a C6-5 the rocket really scooted up there. Check out the stills at the end of the video. Thanks for watching
Experiment with a Estes StormCaster. I decided to try something different with this kit. The rocket is built to look like some kind of transport. I did not do the final finish because I was not sure if it would fly correctly. Its flown with a D12-5 and filmed with a casio fc100 @ 210 fps. Sorry about the focus, we have a learning curve with this camera. I hope to be better with the camera by the time this rocket has it's finished paint job. Till then enjoy. Thanks for watching
Estes Monarch flying on a B6-4. Maiden voyage. I tried to Launch and film at the same time....not such a great idea. I was limited as to how far I could be from the rocket (by the length of the launch wires), so I did not move quickly enough to capture the whole flight. Next time I will wait for my ground camera crew Nick and his excellent reflexes that you can see in my other rocket videos.
Estes Guardian Rocket launch 9-6-2010 in Southold NY. Wind about 8 mph from the southeast. I did not get the altitude I expected. I suspect the wind caused the rocket to rotate into the wind and travel in a long arc rather then vertical.
