"The Mercury capsule is molded plastic with a clear plastic rod extending out the front."
"The escape tower is built onto the clear rod with toothpicks, a plastic tube, and paper strut patterns."
"The body of the Atlas uses paper cone construction for the forebody and rear engine shrouds."
". . . use of self-adhesive chrome to cover the body tube and engine shrouds."
"I experience two problems . . ."
"The model's removable clear fins are attached to 1/4" wood dowels which plug into plastic tubes on the side of the body. . . the problem is, the tubes are too wide to fit . . . without distorting."
"The other part of the model I initially messed up was the self-adhesive decal that represents the corrugations at the base of the model . . . It was not clear from instructions. . ."
"Be careful handling the Atlas . . . the laser-printing on this decal can be rubbed off."
"Over all the body of the Atlas looks very good with its shiny chrome finish."
