Brief:
Quickburst Cosmos are excellent ematches for use with electronics for dual deployment recovery in larger rockets.

Quickburst Cosmos ematches

Construction:
The Cosmos ematches come in a sturdy box. You can order them in quantities of 10 (I ordered 20) and I bet in upwards of 50 would fit in a single box. They are individually wound, include a sliding protective sheath for the head, and have 36" long leads. The other end of the wires have the sheath cut to partially expose the free ends for easy connection to the terminals of the altimeter.

Construction Rating: 5 out of 5

Flight:
Being relatively new to electronics in my rockets, I was careful in taking my time to prep my BSD Apache with a LOC/Precision electronics bay and Missile Works RRC2 altimeter. I cut down the length of the leads of my Cosmos ematches when hooking them into my terminals as I didn't need the extra length. [NOTE: I know that folks might actually want leads longer than 36". If so, I know that Quickburst has notes on almost every page on their website that they will do special orders which means that they can make some custom ematches to your specifications--just email them for more information!]

The upward portion of the flight was successful thanks to a Loki Research I405 (ignited by a Quickburst Slim Gem igniter!)

Recovery:
The altimeter activated the ejection just past apogee and the Cosmos lit the ejection charge and pushed out the 15" LOC drogue parachute. At 500' AGL, the main ejection fired the second Cosmos right on cue to release the 36" Top Flight chute. Success! Upon recovery, the altimeter beeped out 2821'.

Flight Rating: 5 out of 5

Summary:
With some of the popular ematch manufacturers either slowing or ceasing production, having a vendor step up and fill that gap is needed for our hobby. I have always been impressed with Quickburst's quality igniters and am more than pleased to see them stepping up with affordable ematches for our rocketry needs too. Definitely check out the Quickburst Cosmos ematches!

I've recently received my order of Cosmos e-matches. The service was great. I'm also new to electronics, and have a Missile Works RRC2 altimeter. Although I have not flown with the system yet, I've just completed some extensive ground testing. Every Cosmos I used tested out perfect (resistance)and fired on demand. The Quikburst Cosmos e-match is definitely a top quality product at a very affordable price.
