Brief:
This ignitor is designed for the small composite single use Aerotech and Ellis Mountain motors.
Construction:
The ignitors come in a 10 pack for $10. They are oval in cross section shape which is what is unique about them. As in the photo, they fit perfect in the AeroTech 24mm F21. They are a perfect fit in the Ellis Mountain 24mm G37 as well.
The only CON I can see is that you have to make sure the oval lines up to the shape of the "C" slot in the smallest of motors to get it to fit.
Out of 20 twiggy ignitors we had to slightly sand the outside of one to get it to fit in a tight motor "C" slot.
These are great for AT F20s and F21s, and Ellis G37s and G35s.
Flight:
We took these ignitors to over 8 regional sized launches so far this year as well as LDRS. We first tested them in the F21 in the photo to a perfect flight early spring. Ignited the very first time.
We would save these for flyers asking us if we had an ignitor. This almost always happened after the flyer had suffered a misfire with some other ignitor first.
We have put them in Ellis Mountain 24mm and 29mm single use motors, AeroTech 24mm and 29mm single use and RMS motors, and even an experimental small hybrid motor.
In all but one case they fired each time. In the one case they did not, we discovered that it was an improperly assembled RMS motor and not the fault of the ignitor.
Summary:
They work real well and I will be picking up 20 more from Quickburst so I can help my fellow flyers out with a good reliable ignitor for the smaller composite motors.
