2010 Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC) (2011-06-19)

This is a video of the 2010 Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC) hosted by the Experimental Sounding Rocket Association (ESRA). Four schools entered, BYU, Embry Riddle, UCLA and CSULB. All of them Successfully launched a rocket in the Basic Category of the competition, which was to launch a 10lb payload to 10000 feet. ERFSEDS (a club from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University) won 1st place. Brigham Young University won Second Place, and California State University - Long Beach won the Jim Furfaro Award for Technical Excellence. Congratulations to all teams, I hope you enjoy the video, I tried to make it as non-biased as possible which was a little difficult since I didn't have a lot of media for everyone else. If anyone is wondering the cameras on the Embry Riddle rocket are GearCam DVRs.

Delta 4 night Launch on December 5, 2009 (2011-06-17)

This launch was taken before I got my polarizer, so this is the last launch with a huge ball of light. Below is a discription of the Delta 4 from spaceflightnow.com The United Launch Alliance Delta 4 rocket launched the third Wideband Global SATCOM spacecraft, formerly known as the Wideband Gapfiller Satellite. Built by Boeing, this geostationary communications spacecraft will serve US military forces. The rocket flew in the Medium+ (5,4) configuration with four solid rocket boosters.

Icarus III Motor Test May 7, 2010 (2011-05-31)

This was a scaled test for the Icarus III sounding rocket motor. Unfortunately the test didn't go so well and the data is still being analyzed. But after all the reason we have tests like these is to make sure this doesn't happen on a larger scale.
