The Apollo-NASA section of the National Association of Rocketry launched a Saturn V from the 50-yard line during the half-time show of the 1969 Bluebonnet Bowl on New Years Eave. The launch was witnessed by 50,000+ fans in the Houston Astrodome and millions on national TV.
