Starship Octavius: A Simple E2X Build
A fast build if you want somethin' quick t' launch or t' do while glue is dryin' on somethin' else. T' kit says that it can be snapped together includin' t' 2 halves fin can with friction fitted pegs and t' fins slide into slots. T' pre-colored body tube (BT-50) with pre-punched holes, snaps onto clips on t' fin can and t' thru-wall shock cord mount has an inside lockin' clip. Launch lugs are pre-molded into t' fin can and engine retainer screws onto t' bottom. I prefer t' add some strength and nay have it fly apart when it hits t' ground, so I run some liquid plastic cement in t' seams o' t' fins and fin can, shiver me timbers, shock cord mount and some gel cement betwixt t' fin can and body tube.
Decals are 6pc self-stick with an Estes logo, 2 name banners, a large pattern wraparound and 2 pc cockpit canopy stickers. Trim t' clear sections o' t' canopy stickers for a cleaner look and easier t' wrap around t' curved surface. Also trim t' sharp corners off t' name banners so that they don't lift off over time. Standard Estes 12" pre-assembled parachute and blow-molded plastic nosecone. For mods, I added a snap-swivel for t' shroud lines and a flame-retardant cloth onto t' shock cord instead o' wadding.
Total build time is about 20 minutes includin' additional gluin' and puttin' on stickers.
