Big Daddy Disaster (2011-08-24)

Oops! I left the eye protector stuck on the launch rod. Conseqently the Estes "Big Daddy" took the launch pad up with it when it took off. It did a slow arc then headed directly for the videographer.

Blue Ninja Rocket (2011-08-24)

Sorry for the poor grade cell phone video quality. Estes has been thoughful enough to include a BIG "D" engine rocket in their EZ to build lineup that you can build even while lying injured in bed. This is probably the best kit in that category. Fun and easy to build, no water slide decals, properly mounted shock cord, and beautiful launches. Everything done right. Unforturnately the video doesn't show the gracefully slow parachute descent.

Estes Helicat Rocket Disaster (2011-08-23)

Winds were gusting up to 15 mph. We expected there was a good chance for disappointment and disaster. For awhile it looked like a perfect launch, but the helicopter blades and wadding were stuffed in too tight. The rocket was totalled and took awhile pull out of the ground. What a shame.

Estes Huge Executioner E engine Rocket Windy Launch (2011-08-23)

This is the Estes "Executioner", a huge "E" engine rocket. The rocket was not finished by launch day. It only had a coat of primer. It was very windy with gusts up to 15 mph. We decided to give it a try anyway, using the truck as a small barrier to the wind. You can see the rocket turn into the wind - still, a beautiful flight! I had to walk 1/4 mile through the brush to get it. A great rocket to build and to fly!

Estes Oracle Video Rocket High Altitude Launch (2011-08-07)

This was Launch number 8 with this incredible industructible rocket. It has been modified with an Aeropack Engine Retainer to accept Aerotech Engines. This was its highest flight so far: 1798 feet with an F24-7 White Lightning Engine

Estes Oracle Video Rocket Launch & Landing 1666 ft (2011-08-19)

One half speed video of Estes Oracle Rocket with Aerotech E15-7 Engine. Apogee: 1666 feet.. Gardnerville, Nevada. Yes, I caught the rocket before it touched down.

High Power Rocket CertificationTest (2013-03-11)

A 5-foot tall, 4-inch diameter Aerotech G-Force Rocket was converted to a high-power rocket enabling it to use an H128 reload engine. The results were impressive. Even in windy conditions, the rocket obtained an apogee close to 1500 feet and the delay was drilled to perfection. As you can see, the upper winds were very strong resulting in a very rounded apogee. The rocket landed approximately 1/4 mile away. Although the wind caused it to cartwheel over the rocks upon landing, very little damage was done thanks mainly to the blue tube coupler inserted at the base.

Highest Estes Oracle Video Rocket Launch (2014-01-18)

I put an F24 RMS engine in my Oracle Video Rocket to see how high it would go. It was a perfectly vertical launch and beautiful recovery. Unfortunately, it w...

Sky Trak. Rocket (2011-08-24)

This is a cool looking "C" engine rocket from Estes. It comes pre-built. Take it out of the box, plug it into your launch system and fire it off all within a few minutes. Can't beat that!
