Rather than putting in a single large parachute I rigged it with both of the chutes I had that problem with on the second rack. using a bunch of crepe paper wadding. I used the old pyrogen Estes igniters, installing them with plugs before removing the paper and twisting them together with my range box pliers. I put in tiny pieces of masking tape in strategic locations to prevent shorting, and checked it all over several times before hauling it to the LCO. At his instructions I set it up on pad 4, from which spot it launched with authority. It was then that I started breathing again, as no amount of preparation will convince me that the igniters are correctly rigged until the engines all fire. It flew straight and surprisingly high, and deployed the twin chutes perfectly. It was recovered in undamaged condition north and west of the launch area and will absolutely fly again.
