4-H Rocket Camp 2013
Launch day for a 4-H rocket day camp that Jess and I taught July 18-20, 2013. Eleven kids including ours, plus Krista and Jackie from our local Virginia Cooperative Extension office. The models are unpainted Baby Berthas using streamers (instead of the default parachute) for recovery on a small field and windy day. Flights are all on A8-3s, so not very high. Everyone seemed to have a blast. The only snafu was my first (test) flight, in which the motor hook's upturned lip got caught on the clothespin standoff. Video by Karin, mom of two of the kids.
