Buster's First Flight - Airfest 22
First (test) flight of my Level 3 certification project, "Buster," at Airfest 22, near Argonia, Kansas, on September 2, 2016. Maximum altitude was just over 6000 feet above ground level (the field is 1250 feet above sea level). Buster was built from a modified Rocketry Warehouse Terminator 5 kit. The motor for this flight was a Cesaroni Pro75 L1355 Smoky Sam. Recovery is via a two foot Spherachutes drogue, a four foot Fruity Chutes pilot parachute and a seven foot Fruity Chutes main parachute, controlled by a Missileworks RRC3 primary altimeter and a Missileworks RRC2+ backup altimeter. The rocket was tracked with an Altus Metrum TeleGPS tracker.
