I modified this Der Red Max kit with a Wolverine 3X18mm mount for a BT60 tube. I also beefed up the fin mounting by adding through-the-wall tabs which nest in between the motor tubes, and fitted it with a 12" ripstop parachute. Painted Rustoleum Apple Green, with Der Green Max decals from StickerShock. I had to add a fairly significant amount of weight to the nose cone to bring the flight-ready CG up to were it is on my standard Red Max. Red is 2.5 oz, whereas this one is 3.35 without engines. It weighs 50% more, but potentially has 3X the thrust, so hopefully it'll reach somewhere close to twice the altitude.
EDIT: After further study, it was determined that the rocket would be perfectly stable without the nose weight, so the weight was removed. Much lighter now.
EDIT: We regret to inform that Der Green Max was last reported somewhere over the carrot fields of Potter, NY. After boosting under three B6-6 motors, it was allegedly abducted by aliens - probably to study motor clustering technology.
