Program Description: Not all sunscreens are created equal. The information included in this FDA PSA will help consumers decide how to buy and use sunscreen, and allow them to more effectively protect themselves and their families from sun damage. Consumers should use sunscreens that have an SPF of 15 or higher and list broad spectrum on the label to protect against harmful ultraviolet A and B rays. The purpose of this PSA campaign is to: • Educate viewers about the risks of spending time in the sun. • Encourage consumers to use Broad Spectrum sunscreen products. • Provide a website for more information and resources at www.fda.gov/sunscreen.
