The film talks about fun and frolic of childhood and a girl child who is in the verge of missing it by the name of domestic labor. It projects how the girl is being brought into the bonded labor, her sufferings as a child who would miss her parents, friends and her own village. As children themselves, how they take the local support to overcome the issue and help the girl from being trafficked as a domestic labor. Director Biography of the director – Pavel Navageethan Pavel Navageethan is a film maker, actor and creative trainer. He has directed 11 short films winning awards for nearly every film. and the films have been screened in national and international film festivals and have won awards. Among others, he has won the Best Children's Short Film at the Golden Jubilee Film Festival of Children Film Society of India, New Delhi in 2006. Pavel Navageethan, who played the character of Viji in the recently released movie “Madras”, directed by Pa. Ranjith, is a trained theatre artist, a movie aspirant and most importantly, an award-winning short film director. He has debuted on the big screen with Kuttram Kadithal but has earlier performed in PSAs and short films like ‘Pazhaiya Suvar Puthiya Siththiram’ and He has performed in many street plays and stage plays, based on various social issues. Director’s statement Though it is widely believed that child labor has been abolished, there are a lot of innocent children and parents who have become victims due to domestic child labor. The film has been shot, so as to bring out the brokerage business that is being played in child trafficking and how children of a village get together to rescue a trafficked child. Production note About the Production The short film Kiki was produced with the objective of creating more awareness about domestic child labour and its consequences. The pre-production for the movie was completed in 20 days. The film was shot in 5 days at Kallupatti in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Post production was completed in 15 days.
