Flight Log - 2018-10-06 - Matthew Bond's 13mm Payloader 002

NARAM 60 A Payload altitude design.  A 13mm booster with a transition to an 18mm payload section which contained both the NAR payload and a short section of coupler tube designed to carry the altimeter, an Altus Metrum MicroPea.  Payload bay and coupler were drilled to allow ambient air pressure to reach the altimeter.  Nose cone was elliptical shaped balsa.

NRC B Payload flight using my NARAM 60 13mm payload model flown in a 2 stage configuration.  I cut the fin can off the second model and used it as a booster stage.  Got a great boost out of the tower (no piston), and a good staging event.  Saw the ejection event but could not track the rocket against the high clouds.  Found the booster near the launch tower, someone else recovered the sustainer.  Flight was DQ'd due to ejecting the sustainer motor.  The payload section had separated at ejection but the recovery streamer stayed lodged in the BT.  To top it all off, the MicroPeak altimeter did not record a flight event.  At least I got everything back relatively undamaged.
