Flight Log - 2017-11-25 - Matthew Bond's Estes Mega Der Pink Max

Estes upscaled Red Max Pro Series II kit.  Added an eyebolt to the top centering ring and replaced the shock cord with 20 feet of braided Kevlar.  Added some balsa "dams" to the motor mount which allowed me to pot the TTW fin tabs in epoxy where they attached to the motor mount.  Currently using a kevlar heat shield and a 30 inch Spherachute for recovery.  Rocket was initially flown "nekkid", but final colors will be pink with a purple nosecone and "Der Pink Max" decals from Stickershock.

Great flight of the Mega Pink Max!  Awesome boost, super fast and straight off the rail on a beautiful red flame.  Stalling out at apogee, just tipping over at ejection.  Good separation, rocket moving bit with the wind at altitude.  Jolly Logic chute release did its thing at 400 feet and the rocket landed on the field with no damage.  Shock cord was extremely twisted but it didn't seem to affect the chute release at all.
