Flight Log - 2016-01-16 - Matthew Bond's Rocketarium Octagon

An 18mm saucer design with the frame built up around the central motor tube from 7 laser cut light plywood parts and the covering formed from interlocking cardstock panels.  The cardstock is plain white allowing for any possible decoration scheme.  The flight profile is low altitude, high drag, for a fun, close to the pad flight.

Flight Date: 2016-01-16
Rocket Name: Rocketarium Octagon
Kit Name: Rocketarium - Octagon {Kit} (RK-OCTAG)
Flyer's Name: Matthew Bond
Motors: D10-7
Wind Speed: 5.00 mph
Launch Site: SEARS

Continuing the trend of putting bigger motors into my fleet of high drag oddrocs, I prepped the Octagon with an Aerotech D-10.  Great boost, there is just something cool about a high drag design tearing through the air on a nice straight boost.  Rocket slowed down immediately after burnout and flipped over for a nice gentle descent back to the field.
