This replaced Mean Machine #1 which was one of my favorite rockets I built as a kid. It was stored for years in my parent's basement, leaning up against a wall, but by the time I retrieved it, it looked like a banana.
So I was pleased to find out Estes had re-released it, improved at that. I painted it John Deere green to go with the yellow lettering, and added some Deere-like ring-strips at the top of the tube.
One of the launches of this rocket found the parachute failing to eject (possibly too much wadding) causing it to lawn dart on a hard packed softball infield. The top 6" or so of the body tube accordianed. I repaired it by splicing on a new tube section, redoing the original paint scheme, and adding an ejection baffle for good measure.
