Brief:Roachwerks Custom Nosecones
This is a review of the three balsa nosecones turned to my specifications by Roachwerks Rockets, run by Gordon Agnello.

Construction:
1: 24mm Upscale Deuce's Wild Nosecone: This was my first request to Roachwerks for a custom nosecone. I had acquired several two-inch diameter tubes and I needed a project. I chose the 24mm DW and all the pieces were falling into place nicely except for the nose. I called on Mr. Agnello to turn my custom 1.4:1 ogive NC. I traded him one of my tubes for the NC. The quality of the cone was EXCELLENT! The speed that Gordon made the cone and shipped it was great! It is the blue cone in the picture.

Roachwerks Custom Nosecones 2: 29mm Upscale Deuce's Wild Nosecone: After building and flying the 24mm DW on several flights, I felt that I needed to go bigger. *S* I chose to base the new Deuce off a LOC 2.56 inch body tube. So I sent an e-mail to Roachwerks with the specs of the tube, ID and OD. I paid only 10 dollars for this nose, which is excellent considering that is custom made by hand!

3: 13mm Downscale Deuce's Wild Nosecone: Basically, I said to myself, " Self, if you're gonna have a bunch of DW's, you might as well have a little one too. Go ahead and get it." So, I did get it. Another high quality nosecone from the SANDMAN!

Finishing:
All that I did when finishing these nosecones is to give them a coat or two of finishing epoxy, sand them down once, fill in the spots, sand it again, and then give it one more coat of epoxy. That allows for a very glossy finish.

Summary:
In conclusion, Mr. Agnello has gotten my vote if I ever need a custom nosecone. Contact him for a quote. All he asks for are VERY specific dimensions.

Overall Rating: 5 out of 5
