Brief:
Very heavy kraft paper, aircraft ply fins, Single stage HPR.

Construction:
The kit comes with: four BT's, two couplers, four fins, eight nozzle fins, four canard fins, eight fin detail pieces, four CR's, 1 MMT. one nose cone, one 74" chute, one shock cord and ½ launch lugs and other hardware.

The kit was shipped in a large thick walled box. When you open the box you can't help but say "WOW!" Lots of parts and excellent packing. The kit went together easy, but take your time, there is a lot of work to be done. You have to cut the BT for the fins and this is the thickest tube I've ever seen, so be careful. There are many parts but they all fit perfectly. The instructions were as good as I've ever seen.

Finishing:
The kit was easy to finish. The OD of the tube is like LOC tubing so there is little to do for finishing. Lots of paint here so buy 2 cans of each color. I opted to paint the nozzle thing using a gold leaf paint. The decals look like the laser cut vinyl. They are thin so you hardly notice they are decals. They are put on by removing the backing on the sticky side, placing it on the rocket, then removing the top sheet.

Flight:
To date, I've flown it 9 times. Once on an I195 (under powered) twice on an I300 and 5 times on an I284. By far the sweetest flights are on the I284's. She flew straight as an arrow on every flight, although the I195 was a little squirrelly. One of the I300's with a medium delay gave me a zipper. I emailed DG&A and I had a new tube and a coupler (I think at his cost) in 3 days. Now how's THAT for service!

Recovery:
Other than the zipper, perfect recovery, every time.

Flight Rating: 4 out of 5

Summary:
This bird gets a lot of attention at every launch and I would have to say it's one of the best rockets I've ever built. (I currently have 47 rockets, 16 of them are HPR) This kit has everything you need in HPR, from high quality parts to design and from service. The only thing that could have made this kit better is motor retention. None is provided.

Photos courtesy of DG&A   Anyone heard of BSD? Well this kit is equal to the quality of that now popular company. Danny Cantu, the owner, has designed a line somewhat challenging to build and extremely fun to fly kits, from the 29mm Predator up to the special edition limited production Armageddon and Sonic Blast (3 K1100's no problem). This kit is designed for a 38mm I161-J570. It ...
