Rickie Lee Kroell, "Magritte - The Lovers"
Rickie Lee Kroell's composition is inspired by Rene Magritte's "Magritte - The Lovers" and shares the same title. Rickie is a member of CanvaSounds which is the product of several innovative, young female composers from across the globe who needed a place to share their perceptions and ideas about multimedia composition. Their ongoing series—starting with concerts, then recordings, and now video documentation—provides audiences with a place to experience and discuss emerging classical music in an immersive, open-minded environment. Various multimedia, including live video processing, poetry, 2D visual art, and collaborative sound design, are used to bring each composer's distinct perspective to the stylistically diverse dialect of new music.
