Travelling up to a blistering 100mph, these flyers can reach heights of up to 10,000 feet (3048 metres) EARS was started by rocket fan Peter Wells in 2000, and has since grown to 40 members, who meet up for launches over 70 times a year. It was an event for all the family, with youngsters racing their rockets to see who could get the greatest height. A mix of homemade, model kits and refurbished rockets, the flyers can reach speeds of up to 100mph.
