The Rocketeer's CIRRUS X3 ROCKET PACK Explained | You'll look like a hood ornament!
A one-minute video overview about the Cirrus X3 rocket pack from Walt Disney's The Rocketeer, its powers, abilities, and characteristics as depicted in the film adaptation. Created by Howard Hugh’s, the Cirrus X3 Rocketpack is the essential piece of heroic equipment that grants the Rocketeer the power of flight. Where its predecessors and earlier models failed due to heat build-up, the Cirrus X3 was capable of maintaining a cool fuselage during prolonged periods of flight. The rocketpack’s alcohol-powered twin rockets are activated via control switches attached to both hands of the pilot, which also acted as a throttle, allowing the pilot to maintain a stationary hover, or reach and exceed speeds equivalent to that of a commercial jet. Though revolutionary, the Cirrus X3 had a few drawbacks, such as the inability to steer without the aid of a helmet rudder, and providing the pilot with an unknown amount of flight time.
