Flight Log - 2015-09-20 - Will Ferry's Red Devil
Flight Date: 2015-09-20
Rocket Name: Red Devil
Flyer's Name: Will Ferry
Motors: H148-P
Expected Altitude: 2,367.00 Feet
Launch Site: XPRS 2015
Actual Altitude: 2,674.00 Feet

Re-flown in same configuration as previous flight.  Tightened fit of lower coupler and ensured chutes were packed such that vent holes were not obstructed.  Also changed from friction fit of motor to using M38E extensions to ensure no loss of motor casing.  Extra weight of motor retention reduced simulated altitude from 2929' to 2367', however flight came between these numbers at 2674'.

Proper drogue / main parachute ejection.  Drogue chute tangled and did not fully deploy.  Main parachute melted by ejection charge, did not deploy.  Rocket landed at high velocity (~40 mph).  One rocket fin damaged at fillet.

Flew with StratoLogger CF, data downloaded.  Flew with Eggfinder @ 909MHz, unit never had satellite lock (damaged from previous flight), and after this hard landing the GPS antenna detached and PGM header pins bent and were touching, causing unit to no longer transmit.  Good visual on flight.
