Flight Log - 2012-05-19 - Ray "AcroRay" Miller's X-30 National Aerospace Plane

A large, primarily aeroshroud kit with a reputation for difficult construction, poor flight performance and self-destructive design bugs.  The reputation is well-deserved, but the kit looks very nice on display. I bought it for $5 after lots of research.

Flight Date: 2012-05-19
Rocket Name: X-30 National Aerospace Plane
Kit Name: Quest - X-30 Aerospace Plane {Kit} (4001) [1994-?]
Flyer's Name: Ray "AcroRay" Miller
Motors: C6-3
Launch Site: Tripoli Pittsburgh, Uniontown, PA
Actual Altitude: 100.00 Feet

Cleared rod and arced into the wind in a tight spiral. Ejection popped the friction-fit motor & NC, but not the 24" chute. Shallow glide to the ground, resulting in dented front of body. Can fly again.
