Amitabh Bachchan lends supports in fighting Hepatitis B
UNICEF is extending its support to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) with the aim to create awareness about Hepatitis B and its pentavalent vaccine through uninhibited confessions led by UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, Amitabh Bachchan. In India, approximately 10 lakh children, on an annual basis, run the lifetime risk of developing chronic Hepatitis infections, leading to life-threatening issues including liver cancer, liver failure and a possibility of premature death. In the recent National Launch of the Hepatitis B Vaccine Drive, the 'Confessions from AB', short PSAs created by Piyush Pandey, were launched by the MoHFW. This special public health announcement documents Bachchan's personal journey as a Hepatitis B patient.
