Flight Log - 2020-06-13 - Bill Eichelberger's Semroc - Sigma II

No plans exist that I know of, so I used the artist rendering in the 1970 Astronautic Modeler to come up with fin shapes and tube sizes.  This is more of a close guess than an actual rocket built from a plan.

Flight Date: 2020-06-13
Rocket Name: Semroc - Sigma II
Kit Name: Semroc - Sigma II {Kit} (KB-3) [1968-1971]
Flyer's Name: Bill Eichelberger
Motors: B6-0/A8-5
Expected Altitude: 800.00 Feet
Wind Speed: 5.00 mph
Launch Site: E-Rockets Field, Huber Heights, OH
Actual Altitude: 250.00 Feet

Huge gust came up just as the button was pressed.  The Sigma II windcocked left violently and began a near horizontal flightpath across the field.  I lost it as it staged.  The booster drifted far past the pads to the right, but I never found the sustainer despite walking all the way to the fence.  When I took my next rocket to the pad it was sitting on the LCO table.
